Digital footprint

The thread about losing access to some parts of the site because lack of periodic participation brought up an interesting question.

For those who are the last in their lineage what to do with their digital footprint once deceased with no surviving spouse? Not even referring to cloud presence, but just local pc files, documents, anything residing in digital format on a portable or stationary device.
