Odd type on my PC.

I just updated my video card and then the screen flashed and now all the print is lighter and the letters look like it is running out of ink like an old version of windows?I did a restore but no difference. This is on a W 7 PC.Just found a web site that explained the peoblem. It wasin the advanced system properties and changed from performance to let windows decide and it all came back to normal.

Windows 7 really?

Nothing wrong with Win7 but I suspect most of us on this forum have moved on.

My money would have been on

My money would have been on black levels being improperly set between video card and monitor.

That happened on my w11

That happened on my w11 system also - but i cant remember how i fixed it. So, it isn't just an issue with w7. And I would agree, W7 is too old to keep UNLESS, you run into driver issues upgrading. I have upgraded W7 systems to W11 and have one that had a driver issue. The best think to do is to image you system drive with Macrium Reflect Free, then create a usb boot using Rufus to bypass compatibility tests because it won't be compatible. Install and verify everything works with the latest drivers u can find. If not, u can reimage back to your previous system. Reflect makes life simple.
