What’s wrong with my Garmin? ("Recents" not working)

In the past if I clicked on “Recents” I got a whole lot of choices of previous searches.
Now what happens the map opens up with nothing specifically shown.

I’m probably 2 map versions behind now and this has been happening since my last update. The.GPS is in the car and I am not.

Did Garmin change this?

My 2689 is OK

I've been using City Navigator North America 2026.10 on a nuvi 2689 since about mid-February (not sure of that) and my "Recents" feature is working fine.

Is there some reason why you are two map versions behind?

Recent destinations not saving.

This is probably a long shot, but is there a chance that the internal memory is full so that it can't save recent trips?

Thanks alandb, I’ll have to check it out. Bring the GPS inside to see what I can find out.lt isn’t recent trips but say a restaurant I navigated to by putting in the address. In the past that would be in my recents.

Recents not showing

I I started a comment about this a month ago but got no replies. I ended up erasing everything and started a new recents file.

Files

I called Garmin and was told to try hard reset, that didn't work , so then he suggested a master reset, losing everything but not maps. So I had to reinstall pois from the factory as well as red lights and camera files and using mapsource , reinstalled all favorites and had to rebuild new saved and recent files. Now everything works as usual.
