MP3 player with Nuvi 660

Can someone help me. I have my music collection stored on a 2 Gig SD card plugged into my Nuvi 660. When I copy albums from iTunes they show up with the album as the folder and all the album songs in the folder. Next I created a mix folder called mymix. I then copied a number of songs into the mix folder just like you would on an iPod. Interesting thing: I see the folder mymix on the SD card (when Nuvi is plugged in to comouter thru USB) and the folder has all the songs in it but on the Nuvi display there is no folder mymix and all the songs are displayed individually by alphabet. In other words I can't create a mix file. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Playlists

Don't create any other folders than the mp3 folder - just create playlists...and they need to be in the format m3u...which, per the manual, may need a tweak using a text editor to remove a reference to a path in the playlist file.

Thanks,

Check your manual. You must create a text file , listing all songs in your mix (playkist), rename it with a .m3u extension and place it in a directory that contains your mp3 files to be played from your list. Gope this helps...

Can you do a play list with

Can you do a play list with the 350?

I also use a mp3 tag tool which makes it very easy to make the names of the files, genre, etc the way you want them.

Thanks for your help

Keith-

Thanks for the help here with the MP3 playlists. I deleted the folder and used Winamp to create an M3U file like you said and it works perfectly.

And thanks for pointing out the obvious place to look for the solution: the manual-not too smart that I didn't look there first!

.

asianfire, the nuvi 350 supports the m3u file format for playlists.

yeah, I read the manual last
