I left southern California many years ago, actually back in the 60's. I know it is not the same place I left, but I do miss that southern California beach weather.

Our property...
....has become a Deer Sanctuary for a family of 5 deer who spend the night and wander the yard most days. We live on an oak forest ridge line and they seem to think they own our place.
We don't want to scare them off, so we delay going out on errands if they are near the garage.
Most of the time, I can walk slowly and, not toward them, and they just look up, then back down to grazing.
Several years ago, a young buck allowed me to touch his antlers and pet him. A thrill.

Short month
Seems like this happens yearly. 4 weeks. Next month has same calendar day/date. Amazing. Every 4 years we hold an election and they give February and extra day. Should give it to November to give us more time to recover.

Swingin' Like A Pendulum
Equaled or exceeded a 130 year record snowfall record last week and it was stunningly beautiful for a couple of days. Looking at hitting 70 degF more than once this week. Nowhere near what I've experienced over the decades in other locales, but truly a once in a lifetime event for anyone around here that's never been out of the area.
