Wiring of Garmin BC 30 backup camera

I have a BC 30 backup camera for my garmin GPS. The camera has gotten wet inside and is all blurry. This has happened before as this is my second camera. I need to replace the camera only. They discontinued this camera and nothing else works with my GPS. I'm thinking of a generic camera off Amazon. I know the connector won't be the same as the BC 30 has a single connector with 4 wires in it. Before I take the back hatch all apart, does anybody know if the wires are colour coded and what they are? I wrote garmin but they won't supply a wiring diagram. Anybody have to rewire their camera and know how it's wired?

Perhaps some help at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsB86bmeK4c or the subsequent videos.

Good luck.

Thank you. Yes. It was

Thank you. It was installed 7 years ago but I did get a picture of the connector that has 4 wires in it (A) and generic cameras have 2 connectors (B). I'm looking for info for how to match up the wires, power and video.

I think..

I would guess that the format of the image is unique to Garmin and very unlikely to be compatible with any other manufacturers format.

Amazon.ca

Why not buy a new BC30 from Amazon.ca? With the USD to CAD exchange rate it would be really cheap.

Yes. $140 but a generic

Yes. $140 but a generic camera from Amazon is only 20 - 50 so alot cheaper if I can find a wiring diagram for the garmin harness, I can buy generic and splice it together.

BC-30

Here's a used BC-30 on eBay for $54:

There is also a BC-30 cable for $27:

With this, you wouldn't have to cut your factory cable.

But..

Don't know why you would think a cheap camera from Amazon would be compatible with a Garmin.. regardless of the wiring. But, Good luck.
