Extra POI Editor on Windows 11

Yesterday I created an updated gpx file with Extra POI Editor on Windows 11. I wasn't happy with the way it looked when I loaded it on my Garmin, but when I went back to create a new one, Extra POI Editor wouldn't start, no way, no how. It creates an icon on the taskbar, and you can shut it down, but that's it. Tried Run as Administrator. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, same thing. It doesn't appear that Windows Security has done anything with it. I ran the Windows compatibility checker, which mysteriously said it applied some changes, but that didn't affect anything. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm at home and dust off an old computer to get my update done. Might have time over the summer.

Maybe a workaround

For years there's been a known foible with EPE not starting. Try holding the shift key down while starting EPE. On my win 10 box that workaround never fails to allow EPE to start.
