Basecamp Route (can't read highlighted road names)

Hello everyone,
When creating a route within Basecamp it automatically highlight the route with the selected color on the map. This kind of obstruct the details on the map such as highway #/name especially if I have several routes created. I tried to choose transparent as color but still it obstruct that I can't see the highway/street name. Question here is there anyway I can make Basecamp not to highlight the route unless I select that route? Any work around or any tips will be greatly appreciated.

It'll always be highlighted if you're working on it, but you can always select another route or other data, eg a waypoint, which will then not highlight the route you want to look at. The only way it can be highlighted is if you select it.

Thank you. It seems like no matter what I do **all** routes are highlighted at the same time. I click on other waypoints but still all the routes created are highlighted. I'm wondering is it something I need to change in Basecamp settings. Thanks
Empty Folder

Try this to temporarily clear the screen.
In the top left Library pane right click on "My Collection", then from the popup select "New List Folder". Name the folder "Empty Folder" and don't ever put anything in the folder.
Now anytime you need to temporarily clear the map screen left click on this Empty Folder to clear POIs, routes, tracks, etc. from the screen. Once you've seen what you needed click back to your working folder.
I know it clears the screen but I've been away from the GPSs and all the programs for a while so I don't know if it interrupts any route planning you may be in the middle of.

The only way I get that is if I select them all in the left hand pane.

Yes, this an annoying fact in Basecamp. As a workaround, I open the route window and select the properties tab. I then change the activity profile from "Driving" to "Direct". This moves the highlight off the route so you can read the number or name. I switch back and forth as needed.
If I'm doing a lot of route work, I use Mapsource instead of Basecamp. Mapsource lets you read the route number through the highlight.

I also figured out another workaround. I created a new list, and move the routes, copied the associcated waypoints to that new list. From there I can switch back and forth highlight/select the lists to hide or show the route.

I guess then you didn't mean routes were highlighted, just that they were showing on the map. BaseCamp will show the data in any selected list or folder. If you select a list that has no data then you won't see any data. I keep an empty list for anytime I want to see an uncluttered map.
