Installed, and running in the background is still disabled

The option to have GE running in the background remains disabled on my updated installation.

I also experienced that but wonder if it's a fix (finally) in GE or if it was me telling Win 11 Apps earlier not to let GE run at Startup.

I'll wait

I don't bother until there is a new map and then let GE update. Trying to keep up is a fool's errand with 99% of the updates dealing with issues that have "no" bearing on "vehicle" Garmins.

My Garmin Express 7.17.3.0 install went as smoothly as expected. And yes, GE does in fact have the autostart option unchecked. What took 'em so long?

On the Garmin forums I posted the following around 6 June. EXPRESSCARE I believe is someone with direct connections at Garmin. Maybe this "background" feature setting finally got some attention.

While you are looking into this please consider having the background option within GE as disabled, or provide the reason why the default appears to be enabled. I think if a survey was taken, you would find only a few individuals that prefer it running in the background. Having said that, I only have three automotive devices and perhaps a need exists for other products made by Garmin."
