Large JCV File Download Link for Garmin 2024.10 Map

You are getting so efficient at helping us that I DLed your JCV files before I installed the maps this time.

I ran a simulation to test it, and enjoyed all of the extra junction images, as usual.

I see again that the large JCV file has been split into multiple files. Is it alright to put both files together into the JCV folder or do we just need the D9673020A.JCV (750.8MB) file?

Lots of room on my microSD card so I always use both.

Based on the file sizes, it appears Garmin has now split the JCV data for full NA map into two files ... the larger file being for the US map and the smaller file for the Canada/Mexico map.

Prior to 2024.10, Garmin had been delivering 2 files for the large (full screen) JCV data on the nuvi 7x5 series. But prior to 2024.10, both files were quite large (over 700 MB). I think the largest file was for all NA (including all US, Canada, Mexico) and the second slightly smaller JCV file was for lower 49 US only. So you only needed to use the one JCV file that was appropriate for the map region you downloaded. It didn't matter though if you put both files on your SD card, as the device would use the one it needed that matched your map file.

For 2024.10 though, if you installed the full NA map including US, Canada & Mexico, I think you will want to have both JCV files installed.

Thank you for the explanation. You're right about how prior to the 2024.10 update, both JCV files were around 700-800 MB's each.
I noticed with this 2024.10 update, the small JCV file that comes with the update now has 2 files (D9677020A.jcv and D9678020A.jcv) as opposed to the normal 1 JCV file. So it now makes sense for the Large JCV to have 2 files too. Before the large JCV file would sometimes have 4 separate files.

I doubt if many of the forum members know much about the nuvi 2585TV model. It was kind of an oddball in the Garmin lineup and was not widely sold. I don't think that device was sold when new (2012) with a Garmin lifetime map update subscription. If the device does include a legitimate Garmin map update subscription, you should be able to get the correct JCV file by using Garmin Express to reinstall the current map version. If you are using a pirated version of the Garmin map, it can't be discussed on the forum per the forum rules: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/28855.
