interesting

that co laid off 12k people, some with 18-20 years tenure, by email.

I've not been let go in my career, so maybe I'm naive about employment at will. But to me, that's not the right way to treat people.

Winter Wonderland !!!!!!

.....Out our back window this morning. We live on a oak forest ridge line with pine trees weeping their branches toward the ground. Spectacular.

well the iceday came
it was a school snowday, and took a shingle or 6 off the roof day
I do NOT like shingles,
I do not like climbing on the roof on an ice day
I do not like sliding off the roof on an iceday
I kinda like that the snow that slid off the roof earlier that morning before I did, was 5 feet tall and softer than the ground
I will now always remember to hold and adjust the rope grip on the safety harness, so that slip is about 6 inches, not 'off the roof'

Rollercoaster

Such a hard ride, this roller-coaster we are on. My husband having both Kidney failure and cancer has made it hard for any of his doctors to keep his labs regulated. One week they are low the next week they are high. What is good to eat for one is bad for the other.
We are staying positive. Some weeks he has energy to walk outside and do little chores. Other week it is hard for him to get his energy up enough to do much.
We are doing ok other that the rollercoaster ride. I know it is hard but it is so much better than the alternate. I do love ever minute I have with him. He tries to do more than I think he feels like.
Everyone stay positive and enjoy the moments you have.
