Garmin Drive App Battery usage

Is anyone else seeing the Garmin Drive app draining their smartphone battery? Yesterday my phone said the app used 25% of my battery while being active less than 2 minutes total. I have tried but cannot "Force Stop" the app, only way to stop it is to uninstall it.
Samsung S22+ Android version 12 Garmin Drive version 4.19.40

I have not experienced this on my iPhone. I assume you have checked for an app update and system update. Perhaps an update is forthcoming.

But keep in mind that after most updates, and on many devices, there is a "learning process" (for lack of a better term) that goes on in the background after an update. The purpose is to determine your specific usage pattern. These occur during periods of inactivity and can cause increased drain on the battery.

Drive

I'm using an an earlier version of Drive on my iPhone Xs and have not seen this excessive battery drain.

Based on your experience, I'll wait to install the update to see if this issue is resolved.

One of the big things I find

One of the big things I find strange is the fact that I can have 25% battery usage with less than 2 minutes active time and the fact that I cannot "Force Stop" the App.
