Can’t add name after last update

Hello, all . Hope you can help. I have a Garmin GPS device that is a few years old (don't remember actual age). After entering an address I used to be able to tap the "i" (information symbol) in order to enter the name of the place where I wanted to go and save it. All of a sudden I can't do that any more; perhaps a result of the latest update (?) . Any ideas why this is happening? If it can't be fixed, is there any way to undo the last update, like you can do on a computer? I appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks in advance....Mr. Ed

Model?

Can you connect to Garmin Express and determine the model, which might be helpful?

Another question is are you using a model and map that requires an additional memory card.

More info

Is the problem that there's no "i" button after entering an address, no "Save" after tapping the "i," or that tapping "save" doesn't save the address?

I'm assuming you have a Garmin Drive 5x series, correct? I don't have one so I'm offering generic info hoping that it will apply to your model.

Can you also go to your device's settings and tap myMaps and tell us what you see and which one(s) are checked, making it/them the active map?

Check the videos out and see if you are leaving out a step. https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=NLbuIFdmXd6ZH7WFUOu1G7... .Are you touching the i tab, then go and save?

Thanks for the replies. My

Thanks for the replies. My Garmin is #5 model, I believe. I haven’t needed to enter a name for a while, but I believe I just tapped on “i” and there was a box where I could enter it. I have some Android devices that I can use for GPS, but would much rather use my trusty Garmin. I’ll play with it some more and see if I can add any more info. Thanks again to everyone for your assistance.

There’s definitely an “i” button, Craig, and for the past few years, Ive alway been able to tap it in order to apply a name to the address; there are already many saved locations that are listed by name saved in m Garmin. I’ll play with my Garmin some more and see if I can find anything else out. Maybe the situation will just disappear on its own; as I stated, I have Android devices that can be used for now, if needed, but my Garmin is preferable. I’ll also investigate other suggestions made by you and others on this thread. I’ve jus been busy with other things. Thanks, Mr. Ed

After tapping the "i", is there no Save next to the green Go button? See this Youtube where the Save is shown after tapping the "i" at about the 2-minute mark on the YouTube:

Don't use the green Go button on the same page as the "i" button. You're looking for the page shown after tapping the "i" where a Save button will be alongside another green Go button.

Using Save lets you name the destination and adds it to your Garmin's Saved Places assuming your device uses the method offered in the YouTube.

It could be that the Save button on your device is now below the Go button and scrolling to the bottom of the page would show the Save.
