Saved Places - Not Organized - Basecamp

Tried to see if this was asked before but I couldn't find anything. When using Basecamp, you see all the saved places listed under Internal Storage (either on the device or PC) and it looks fine. However, when sent back to the unit, it shows me a folder with a date from back in 2013 for 98% of the items and then two remaining items are listed in two other folders such as Address and Lodging. How do I a) get rid of the date/time, address, and lodging folders and get the entire list as one when clicking Saved Places? Is this done on the unit or within Basecamp? It's not obvious either way I must say.
Hmmm ..
That should only happen if you've set the appropriate categories in BaseCamp. Open the properties of one of the locations in BaseCamp, double clicking on them in the lower left hand pane should do that, and look at the categories tab. Is anything showing?
If not delete all of them from your device, ensuring afterwards there are no .gpx files in the GPX folder, then send them again from BaseCamp.
Incidentally it would help to know which device you're talking about.

Well
Make sure you are not sending a folder, or a folder that has subfolders to the unit.
Make sure all your data resides on and is safely saved in BaseCamp and on your PC. It's also a good idea to backup this data once in awhile from within BaseCamp.
Make sure you are not sending subfolders to the unit. I think that is messy, I don't do it.
When you send the places (waypoints) to the unit, select them and not folders, lists etc. Highlight the places and then send them to the device.
After you confirm you have all your places safe on BaseCamp, clear out the device of saved places, and start over by sending places and not folders, lists etc.
What GPS are we talking about here? PC or Mac?
When you are dead, you don’t know that you are dead. It is only difficult for the others. It is the same when you are stupid.
Select All?
OK, so I am able to see in categories the assigned folders (date, address, lodging, etc.). I could delete the categories one by one but what a nightmare. If I CTRL-A (Select All), how can I access the categories or is that not possible?
This is for a Drivesmart 55.
Thanks again!

Great that you've discovered why it's happening, you should be able to block select them, then right click, choose open and then the categories tab to change them

Yes thanks. That theory worked for all the ones that had the same folder name listed as "shared" but the remaining two for lodging and address I had to manually remove each one. You'd think that if you selected all of them it would show all the categories vs. shared but when you delete the shared, it only deletes "like categories" which makes no sense.
Long story short, the situation is now corrected but the UI in Basecamp is lacking the ability to do this in one shot with different categories assigned.
Anyway, thanks again!

Well
No sense to you in your situation but that's very unusual, the way it works is how I'd prefer it to work, but the main thing is your problem is resolved. Now ensure you've saved a 'clean' database so you have a starting point in future.
