Garmin Upgrade - Canada

 

After reading the forum files here on the Garmin map upgrade, I contacted Garmin via email. The response I reeived is " I am sorry we are unable to submit your request for a free update disk. We are not shipping the update disk to Canada.

We have made the disk aviaible through our dealers in Canada for you to buy. Here is the link if you would like to find a dealer "

Needles to say I am not impressed with Garmin as I purchased my 350 at the end of June.
From my service rep. it appears that International purchasers are SOL.

Some posters have mentionned that they had to try 3-4 times before one of the Garmin customer service reps would give them the update, so try calling them again.

Otherwise, if it's not too late, return it where you bought it and try to get another one. Based on discussions here and on other forums, the Nuvi 350 with the new maps have serial# starting with 1073xxxx. It's clearly visible on the box, and also there should be no mention of version beside the UPC.

I just bought mine last week from TigerDirect and received it on Monday. I was a little apprehensive because Tiger's listing said it had v7 maps. I was lucky that it did have the 2008 version. Otherwise I would have been very unhappy too.

I'm in Canada as well (Ottawa).

Try again.

Try contacting them again and see what happens... I'm in Canada and didn't have any problems getting my update. I would try calling them or sending an email to both product support and tech support. One of them should be able to help you.

Garmin Upgrade

I emailed a reply to the service rep. advising that I was not satisfied with her reply and wold persue it further. I received and answer a few days later advising that I would receive the upgrade at no cost and it was shipping in August.
