The login page was unavailable today from about 3pm to 5pm Eastern time. During this time, an error message was shown after clicking the "Log In" link.
We opened a support ticket with our hosting provider, and they were able to resolve the issue around 5pm Eastern.

Root Cause
The root cause of the outage was determined to be a failing hard drive. The hard drive was replaced.
