My wife and I were on a road trip today. about 2 hours in I got a message on my Garmin that stated:
Need A Break?
Then it offered:
Fuel
Restaurant
Rest Area
along the route.
Below that it states:
Stop Asking and Ask in 30 min.
I don't recall seeing that in the past. Is it new?
Nope
Although it depends on your device and your settings.
Where there's a will ... there's a way ... DriveSmart51LMT-S, DriveSmart50LMT-D, Nuvi 2508LMT-D, 1490LMT, 1310, Montana 650T, Etrex 20
That's different. I have
That's different. I have not seen that on my one and only old nuvi.
Yep
Not on older models, I first saw it on the 25xx series

Need a Break
I have a Garmin DriveLuxe 60. It has an option under the Navigation option to set "Fatigue Warning" to suggest breaks on long trips. I have it turned off, so do not know exactly what it prompts you for.
Old Device...
I still have my old and trusty nüvi 760. It doesn't do anything like that but it does play my audio books through the car speakers. I like that it will pause my book, give me directions, then pick up the book where it left off.

Fatigue Warning Alert (Need A Break)
I updated the Subject line to include Fatigue Warning Alert.

That was my favorite feature of my old nuvi 755 too, and really the only thing I miss about that device. But with the COVID restrictions I am not taking any long trips these days anyway.
I have lots of other options for playing audiobooks, but it was nice how the 755 would automatically pause the playback when it needed to give directions, then restart the playback without missing a word. It was also nice having the stereo output jack so the audio book and direction prompts would both play through the cars speakers. These are two features I wish Garmin had kept on new devices

That feature is discussed...

My DriveSmart 61 has the feature, after a few days of using it I turned it off, got to be annoying. I have my GPS on all day at work, I don't normally need it or use for anything more than the clock but I have it at the ready in case I get a monkey wrench thrown my way.

Fatigue Warning (Need A Break)
I don't ever recall enabling it, but if it is disabled by default, I must have enabled it and simply didn't realize it.
I can see the value on a road trip, since at two hours in, it isn't a bad idea to take a break. However, I can also see how it could be annoying to some.
Yep
Turned it off on my DriveSmart 65. We usually stop about that often anyway but we didn't need to nagging reminder.
Never knew about this feature
But apparently my 2689 doesn't have it. Oh well, I've made it this far without it, guess I'll be ok not having it.
Fatigue Warning (Need A Break)
Does anybody know if we can modify that and add a fourth field?
If I could get it to alert on my mother-in-law's Garmin Nuvi 3597 for ANY casino, she would be all set!
Modern day equivalent of
“Recalculating”...just one more thing to nag you
"You can't get there from here"
Recalulating
I miss the "recalculating" prompt and wish there was a way to turn it back on. Now when I miss a turn, I might not ever know it. Sure, the Garmin will calculate a new route and get me to my destination, but I liked knowing when I got off course.

My Garmin Drive 50
My Garmin Drive 50 has always done this. Sometimes it's appreciated and sometimes it's not. It's not appreciated if we've been driving around a wildlife reserve at 5 mph and taking breaks to get out of the truck and shoot photos, or we've changed drivers, or just taken turns taking a bathroom break with the car idling to keep the dogs air conditioned.
"141 could draw faster than he, but Irving was looking for 143..."
My 2639LMT seems to have this as well...
It hasn't proven to be so annoying yet but even if I turned it off, my 2020 Subaru has a similar "engine on 2 hours" time to take a break warning built in.

It seems to know when I've
It seems to know when I've stopped for a break already so even on longer journeys, it doesn't prompt me unless i've gone 2 hours straight without stopping. idk if you can set the time at which it prompts you?
Seems
Seems like it is a growing feature. My Drivesmart 61 has it and if I recall correctly it is on by default. We just bought a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe and the Nav system on it has this same feature.
