GE installation problem

Two different laptops. Both have a setting in the registry to install new programs to the "D" drive

One laptop no problem updating GE.

Second laptop gives me a message "INVALID "F" drive.
There is NO "F" drive. Is there a way to force GE to install in the "D"drive?

I tried both ways, update via GE and downloaded a GE file from Garmin.

Thx

Edit follow up:
Did a complete uninstall using Revo Uninstaller. It shows files/lines to be removed in BOLD and there were a number which did refer to an "F" drive. Deleted all and then in the registry removed every item related to Garmin Express.
This finally allowed me to re-install GE.

Another item

I had never realized that when the GE install starts, there is an "Option" button. There you can chose to which drive you want to install GE rather than the default "C" drive.Or maybe that is only in a fresh installation?

The reason I do not want to install programs to the "C" drive is that the more programs are on the C drive the longer it takes to boot up and also slows down the computer.

Just did an update, no prompt to change drive

I just did the update and there is no prompt asking where you would like GE installed. There is some text on the initial screen stating "Show more details" and if you click on that, it will tell you the location of the current installation.

Seems the ability to install to a specified drive other than "C" has been an issue for some time. See https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mac-windows-software...
