Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – October 2019

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

My Wife Has Left Me

For the weekend, traveling to Northern Wisconsin with one of our sons, her to volunteer and him to attend a wedding. Does that count? I'm not actually going anywhere so probably not.

Maybe I'll get some cleaning and decluttering done this weekend while she's away.

Shopping

Driving around town shopping.

Return from Motorcycle First Service Appointment

A 6 hour trip to home from the Ural motorcycle dealership using my old Nuvi 765. Included 2 hours of night time riding, my first ever. Temperatures dropping to about 8 deg C (about 45 deg F). Four shirts, Rainjacket over the bike jacket, winter gloves and heated handlebar grips.

Running around to get things

Running around to get things done. Errands - found chandelier i bought the previous day at another Home Depot for half the price so bonus for me.

Took my cousin and her husband out west last month

She had never been and wanted to see the sites, so my wife and I took them on a little trip. We saw the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD, the Badlands, Wall Drug (whoopee, my cousin's husband's choice), Mt. Rushmore, Custer Battlefield, (my cousin's favorite place), Yellowstone, Bryce Canyon, Zion NP, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and my wife's and my favorite, Arches NP. We had a great time and did all of this in about 12 days. I guesstimated 5500 miles and when I took the rental back, I had put 5546 miles on the car. You should have seen the agents face when I told him the mileage. His jaw just kind of dropped and he gave me a deer in the headlights look. Kind of funny watching his expression!

Local Home Improvement stores

Rounds through the week include the BORG, Lowes, and Menard's.

Why does it always seem that when completing a home repair or project and crossing it off the list, another one takes its place?

What's that? Oh, please excuse me while hollering in the house from the garage to my wife, "Yes dear, that's on my list. If I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it! You don't need to remind me every six months." I don't know why that is always funny to me.

Yes - BORG is Big Orange Retail Giant. Home Depot. While Lowes started in 1946, then Menard's (Midwest in Eau Claire in 1960), Home Depot didn't start until 1978 and has surpassed all other Home Improvement stores in the same category. Truly, they will be assimilated. Your useless trivia for the day. razz
