A google search showed a couple things

Mostly that it's a cable or connection problem.
Per 1 comment "If it says acquiring satellite it means the antenna or cables to the antenna are faulty. Antenna is on the driver side mirror arm as a black box. On the back of your stereo there is 3 colored cables. Gps is blue, satalite radio is dark yellow, and am/fm is white. Buy a new antenna and plug it right into the back of the radio to test it. Also if it gets connection but doesnt know where you are, you may need to do a figure 8 in the parking lot to get it to lock on."

A figure 8 in a parking lot

A figure 8 in a parking lot might be a but much for a big rig. But, driving it around streets might do the trick, if it's just a matter of reacquing the location.

I know that doing a 360 helps set compasses but is it needed for a GPS? I always thought a long-unused GPS or one powered off, then moved, would benefit from a stationary powerup until the sats were relocated but never heard the figure eight mentioned with GPS devices. Just curious...

Well since I didn't suggest

Well since I didn't suggest it (a previous poster did) I would suggest you ask him..

Personally I don't see any benifit a figure 8 as oppossed to just sitting still in an open space.

I have heard of that while watching a drone (not military) review (pre-flight preparation) on YouTube. No idea what that (8 shape or a full 360 degree) is for.

I posted the initial comment.

Everyone evidently missed that it was a quote I took from a response to advice I found when I did a google search for a possible answer to the posters question.
I questioned the figure 8 also but chose to leave it in. I believe it was someones weird sense of humor.

Only

time I've ever heard of doing something similar to a figure 8 is with a handheld digital compass. But that usually just involved turning yourself holding the compass or just the compass slowly through 360 degrees.

I've had to do this with Qualcomm sat on a tractor trailer. The rotating antenna was frozen, so I had to do figure eights until the massage sent and was answered
