Question for the Future.... GPS in Scandanavia

Just came back from a trip in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland... Via a tour group... Liked the Fjord areas of Norway the best.

I was wondering:

If we decide to do this again in the future, I think I'd rather want to drive around there, staying at local hotels... instead of going with a tour group...

But if any place needs a GPS.... That area would... I've never seen so many Tunnels!

Is it still possible to purchase Garmin Maps on SD Card for use in an American purchased 2689LMT? Am I correct that traffic would not work... Due to different FM Frequencies there.

Brings up another question.... In an area such as Norway where, if there's a mountain, there's a tunnel or two going trough it... With all the lack of satellite access, how doe GPS there Keep up? We were in one tunnel about 25K long!

Tunnels

Here's a thread with TMI about GPS and tunnels:

http://www.poi-factory.com/node/48315

Would be interesting to see

Would be interesting to see it try and adapt to a 25K tunnel!

That thread seems to have many posts from people that didn’t have long tunnels.
Closest long one here is on I40, and it’s only about 1/4 mile long. Not sure it it’s long enough to see it do the mode.

In any event, can you get maps for 2689LMT
For that area?

Just curious

Why would you even need a GPS for a 25km tunnel? You cannot go wrong there?

It's not like in Guanajuato, Mexico which has a tunnel system which includes intersections where a GPS might be helpful.

Tunnels are secondary....

Tunnels are secondary.... There sure were a lot of them in Norway..... I was wondering on such a long tunnel what the GPS would do..... as the longest one near us here isn't long enough for me to determine what tunnel mode does... And I do believe that was the jist of the other thread, also.......

But My main question is: can I get Maps for my USA 2689LMT for those areas?

See https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/8427/pn/010-D0039-00 for the Nordic City Maps.
