install OSM to Nuvi 2689

Since my SD Card keeps falling out, (SD Slot is on the bottom which is a poor design), I am wondering if I can copy the map into the internal storage of the device.
What folder would I use as the Map folder is empty even though I have Garmin Maps installed
Can I delete some of the files,(all files not designated with US) in the Keyboard File?

Map
Assuming your OSM map is in standard Garmin .img format, you would put it in the folder /Map. If you name it with the standard supplemental map name of gmapsupp.img, it can go in the /Garmin folder.

Why
not just use a piece of plastic or cardboard to wedge the SD card into place???

Brain freezes
I used to tape over the slot, which over time would stretch resulting in SD Card moving and losing contact with the GPS connection.
Never thought of wedging the SD Card into the slot.
Since I have numerous topo maps on the SD Card, your proposal would eliminate the removal and installation of the different maps when required.
