Garmin began rolling out Garmin Express v6.7.0 for the Mac today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit the ‘About Garmin Express’ page from the Garmin Express Menu and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:
For our devices that support CIQ apps, you will no longer need to log into the CIQ Store when launching from Express.
If you encounter a crash when using Express, we now provide you the ability to send us the crash report information right away. Receiving these reports will help us continue to improve your experience.
We’ve made some improvements to music management for our supported devices. Express will display the amount of free space available on the device and the total size of all content you’ve selected to download.
We improved our map update page by displaying the completed percentage and the download rate.
Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

Has anyone else had this experience? Updating GE to 6.7 the blue bar which shows progress was constantly and erratically jumping back and forth.

It did say " Successfully installed"!

Anything related to Garmin, express or the GPS getting a new map, the progress bar is erratic, show short and long time to complete, but in the end when it says the update was successful it always has been.

No problem on the update. I always have GE set to not run in the background. The last two updates have sneaked the check mark back in, to run in the background.

Update on the MacBook Pro went smoothly.

Will give it a try later in the week when time permits.

Thx 4 the reminder, GE did it for me too. Disabled now.

Installed without problem.

Progress bar behaved just fine for me.

I also had to uncheck the "Keep running in background".

Yeah, it seems that Garmin programmers never figured out how to show a meaningful progress bar. It will be interesting to see how this one works on the next map update.

The update went well but as others have mentioned, I also had to manually unselect the option of having Garmin Express run in the background.

The install went smoothly on my 2 Win7 PCs. I too, had to disable it from running in the background.

another tweak..

Just updated my Windows 10 laptop. The only real issue was it reset the preferences to always be running. Easy enough to turn off again.

Says Up to date with 6.6.0.0

I had a hell of a time I tried three different times and it said it couldn't install it on this computer (windows 10 pro 64 bit) I had to go to the garmin site and download the installer, turn off my internet security and run it as an administrator for it to install I don't know what they did but Kaspersky didn't like it ! I also had to turn off run in background .

Are you checking with GE ???

I've had that happen to me in the past, but never attributed it to my anti-virus program.
Did like you did download from Garmin and then install.

ive had to do that with grapic driver updates also, when an installer is running and the Kaspersky icon is blinking it means its checking the installer and what its installing and at times it causes problems and the installer will fail, so then I go to the site and download the program, normally I don't have many problems with GE updates and I can do it thru GE but this time it was a no go, at times and I don't know why it tells me I don't have enough room on my sd card when updating maps at other times it installs new maps without a problem so ive figured out how to get around the errors with out to much effort !

I have tried several times after removal with Revo Unistall pro. I always get 6.6 and it always locks up.

It appears to me that Garmin has pulled both 6.7.0 and 6.7.1. At least for me I just get V 6.6.0 when I try to update Express.

I guess I should update. Several years behind the times and was still using the standalone updater, but if I remember that stopped working last time I updated. I'll have to try.

They now have GE 6.7.2.0

Please go to the new thread as it appears now that auto-update is built into Garmin Express for PC even when the Settings for Running in Background and Autolauch are unchecked

Fired up my Garmin Express last night and sure enough a banner came up saying there was an update. Had to manually quit the program to stop it running in the background after the install though
