Keeping The Windmill Alive - Your Last Trip? – August 2018

In danger of losing your windmill?

Maybe you can share the last place your GPS took you and if you encountered any problems, or if you used it to seek out special places to go (like Thai Food, ice cream shoppes, etc.).

Anything to keep your windmill alive.

This thread will be closed on the last day of the month and a new one will be opened.

All the worlds indeed a stage and we are merely players. Rush

Camping and such

Traveling and camping with an occasional hotel night. (SHOWER!!!) Visited Berlin–Ichthyosaur State Park in Nevada. Very cool fossils. Went on to Capital Reef in Utah. OMG! Utterly amazing. Headed for Bryce Canyon but it's time for a hotel night so we got a room in Richfield, Utah.

Sigh... Utah has 5 US National Parks but... We're out of beer and today is Sunday. Nope, nope, nope. Liquor and "real" beer or liquor in a state liquor store. Utah defines "beer" to be low alcohol swill and real beer is called "heavy beer". Whatever. We have several days of camping ahead before hitting Bryce Canyon and it will be a dry time. Most towns down't have a store and those that do have limited hours and are closed on Sunday.

GAH!!! We are used to California where, although the state is justifiably considered bizarre, we don't have restrictions based on religion. Unless it's between 2 AM and 6 AM one can buy what they like pretty much anywhere. I'm always caught short by states with archaic laws. It's not like we want to get plastered or anything but the weather is hot and a nice cold beer is great in the afternoon or evening.

I don't mean to offend anybody who lives in this state but WTF??? It's like being in a different country.
