yup... n' here's the coffee recipe for the day!

Here's the perfect coffee to go with that briquette er, I mean turkey!

I've discovered a new coffee recipe... here try this!

2/3 cup ground dark roasted coffee, medium to coarse grind
1 quart water
1 to 3 cinnamon stick(s)
One 3-inch piece orange peel (I use a vegetable peeler and just get the outer portion of the rind so I don't get the white pith of the fruit)
5 ounces piloncillo* or 1 cup packed dark brown sugar (I use 1/3 cup turbinado)

Put the coffee into 2 coffee filters and seal them with clips

Now put everything into a pot/pan and bring to a gentle boil. As soon as the mixture begins to boil, turn the heat off and cover with a lid. Let stand to steep for 5 minutes.

When time expires, pull everything from the pot or pan and pour into appropriate containers and enjoy!

It tastes good and puts a cinnamon fragrance into your house for hours... how nice!

Note: If you want more coffee taste; let the mixture gently boil for 5 minutes before turning off the heat and covering.

Of course you'll need to salt and pepper it to taste... oh, and if you're really adventurous you could put in some whipped cream into the cup once you've filled the cup... so experiment...

Happy Thanksgiving!
