Android 7.1.1

For all you Samsung Galaxy Tab A owners.I got a surprise last night with getting the 7.1.1 update. Was not expecting that since I had gotten a new operating system shortly after the original purchase. So be on the look out if you have the Tab A.

Battery life

My Tab E updated on 10-10, and I seen one of the updates had to do with the battery. I really did not see any big improvement until I ran the battery down low (maybe 10%) and then recharged to about 95%. Now I'm seeing at least double the battery time with about the same daily usage.

One other thing I noticed is that unless I use the "original" AC charger and cable that came with the device I get a warning message about slow charging. I do not see that warning if I plug into the car charger. I know the original charger is a higher output rating than the one I use somewhere else, but it still takes hours longer to charge on the non-original so I try not to have to use it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab E Android 6.0.1 Here

That is interesting. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab E. I checked and it has 6.0.1. and states it is up to date! It is time to find out how to update this.

Updates depend on your carrier scheduling them.

After the update I went to the battery settings now called Device Maintenance and found my power saving mode was off. Found 2 settings, the mid customized and the max. Selected the mid.The max will put if up to 13 hrs. Have not tried that setting yet.

You may want to try Samsung Kies to check if any updates out there http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/

Charlesd45:A little

Charlesd45:

A little different on the Tab E.
Mid is 41 hr 2 min
Max is 126 hr 21 min

Have not tried either setting. Still set to off. But I'm getting such a marked increase now, I may just leave it for later.

But I did use the App Power Monitor to optimize the "sleeping apps" which I think is making a big difference in battery life.

I see it now. Was looking for a separate app.
