Downloading files (POI Loader / KML files)

Hi I am not very good with computers and hope someone could help.i have downloaded some poi files to my lap top and am now trying to download them to my camper 770 sat nav ,via POI loader. The problem is tha when I put the name of the files in the message there are no data files in that folder.please specify a folder that contains at least one file with a.csv or GPs extension. Comes up. It is the correct place for the files but they are KML files. Hope someone can help

Which Files?

Please give us a bit more information. Which files did you download to your laptop and where did you get them? .kml files are Google Earth format files and will not work in most GPS units. They must be either .CSV or .GPX format to work correctly with POI Loader.

Convert First

As bdhsfz6 pointed out, .kml files are Google Earth format files and will not work in most GPS units, and that they must be either .CSV or .GPX format to work correctly with POI Loader. You can try this online converter which I often use. It will convert your .kml files to .csv.

The way I read the post

is he downloaded the poi files and has poi loader pointed at the file and NOT the folder the file is in.

The problem next will be if there are other files in this"folder", either POI loader will balk at it or it may load other unwanted items into the GPI file. Me thinks.
