NOT BEING NOTIFIED ON GARMIN 3597 WHEN NEAR POI

I hope I am not posting this in the wrong forum! I have loaded multiple POIs into my 3597. I see them in "INTERNAL STORAGE" on my PC when looking at the 3597! I have gone through the exercise whereby I created a TEST POINT ONE with EPE. When I approach the REST POINT ONE, the 3597 does, indeed, "announce that I have approached the TEST POINT ONE POI!

However, all of the POI files that I have loaded into my 3597 (and I see that they do exist on the 3597) do NOT seem to do anything when I approach the POI!

Do I have to do something to "activate" the POIs, so I am notified when I approach one of them!

I'm sorry to sound so dumb, but I am TOTALLY confused. Any help would be appreciated!

Read through this FAQ as a good way to learn/troubleshoot Alert issues:

Be sure to understand the 'along the road' description. Standard POIs will not alert as you travel past them if they are more than 98 feet from the center of the roadway. If no custom POIs are alerting, have you set alerts? The easiest way to do this is to run POI Loader in Manual mode, then set a distance alert for each POI set being loaded.

Be sure to let us know how things worked out or if you have further questions. I suggest mastering regular alerts before delving into TourGuides.

PS: Don't overdo alerts. If you have a custom POI loaded for McDonalds and Starbucks, ask yourself if you really want to get an audio alert each time you're approaching one of the shops in a big city.
