Inconsistent information displayed with 2018.1 maps

Since upgrading it seems there is more inconsistent map displays on the screen. If I have a route displayed and subsequently cancel it cross streets do not always show, or show on the map itself. And, in the information bar it (occasionally) shows "driving on road". Driving this same road without previously having asked for a route will show many more (but not all) the cross intersections in the information bar and name most of the adjacent roads. And to make the inconsistencies even worse to try and define it seems to depend a bit on the zoom level.

This on a Nuvi 2689. Is this behavior normal.. on this model.. others.. anyone else frustrated?

Odd behavior

It is not uncommon following an update such as this to see some odd behavior. Why it happens to some and not others remains a mystery. It is also not specific to any particular model. In most cases performing a hard reset will set everything straight once again.

I would recommend backing up your Favorites/Saved Places and make a note of what choices you have selected on the various settings menus. Each model has a slightly different way to do the reset but most all involve pressing and holding the lower right corner of the display and turning the nüvi on and then continue to hold until the device reboots. On my 3597 the trick is to power on with the button first and once the Garmin logo appears, immediately press and hold the LR corner.

Following the reboot, you may need to restore your Favorites/Saved Places and go through the menus to select your desired choices.

Same issues for me plus a skipping problem I reported elsewhere. The Zoom level seems to change the issues quite a bit from very annoying to non-existent.
