Inconsistancies in forum threads

There seems to be some inconsistencies in the way the forum threads work. On some.. clicking on "new" will take you to the "new" posts.. kind of what you expect. But, on some.. http://www.poi-factory.com/node/46835 clicking on "new" will take you to the beginning of a now multi page thread.. GRRR.

Correct.

That is the behavior I see when I am using the "Recent Posts" listing. If the new posts are on the first page, it will take you to the first new post, but if the thread is multi page, it takes you to the top of the page where the first new post is.

However, if you instead use the "Unread Posts" listing, it will correctly take you to the first new post, even on multi-pate threads.

This forum software has always worked that way since I have been a member.

The last "New" post in that

The last "New" post in that thread was at 10:34 AM EST. It showed in my unread posts and when I clicked on it, took me to that post. The previous post was at 6:32 PM EST.

I don't see and Option for "New". Use the URL http://www.poi-factory.com/unread and always get taken to the first unread post in those forums I chose to see. http://www.poi-factory.com/unread/settings

Also, take note that the server crashed last night and the system is slowly recovering. See this thread, http://www.poi-factory.com/node/46929

My only complaint

The way "Recent posts" are handled is my only beef with the Factory. Jon does a great, albeit thankless, job and I'm willing to live one tiny inconvenience.

Recent Posts, by design, takes you to the top of the Thread. Unread posts, on the other hand, take you to the newest post in the thread.

There is a difference.

INHO, "Recent Posts" are presented as described.
