POI loader is a program that you run from your PC, not your GPSr. Once downloaded to your PC, you need to install it, by clicking on the icon and following the install procedure. It will be installed in a folder called "Garmin" which you access from Start > All Programs >Garmin > Poi Loader. Once loaded, you need to connect your GPSr to your PC. Download one or more POI files from this site to our PC and place them in a folder, possibly located on your desktop. Then, start POI loader and select the folder as your source. It will then install them on your GPSr. For more information, check the FAQs and Getting Started.

Suggest you go through the "Getting Started" and FAQs. As you run into questions or problems there are plenty of us on this site who will be happy to answer to questions. Welcome to the site. I'm sure in no time you will be contributing and answering questions for others. Caution, use of your GPSr and POIs is addictive.

Which Unit?

Which GPS brand do you have? That could be the problem concerning the software.
