I suspect this is not an isolated case.

it's difficult

to determine what everyone's price is, to cheat. If a client offers Super Bowl tickets, the value of which is clearly > than any corporate policy would allow, does it make partners corrupt who accept such a all expense paid trip? It happens every day. Or, do we treat corporations different on their vendor and RFP process.

oh...

oh.. well.. that is our money (ticket)

bribe

that's one reason they shouldn't allow lobbyists to bribe our representatives with gifts and perks they have them approve things to make money not to help the people, the military acquisitions people, generals and such when they retire go to work for these company's because they have been taking perks and bribes doing favors for them . the real problem is when they get caught they get minimal punishment and fines if any and any jail time is in a jail that is like a hotel with room service ! you could go to jail for stealing a candy bar but those guys steal billions and at worst loose their jobs or get demoted : rant over have a nice day lol

She is

deplorable!

Judge Throws The Book at Cheaters

The former CEO of a red-light camera firm who bribed officials in two states got her own chance last week to appear before a judge, who doubled her prison time to 30 months and imposed a $2 million fine.

Karen Finley, former chief executive of Redflex Traffic Systems, was found guilty of paying off a Chicago official to help the company win contracts to install the cameras, which catch and ticket speeders, at traffic lights. She was already serving a 14-month sentence for her role in a similar scheme in Ohio when the federal judge threw the book at her Thursday.

Finley paid off John Bills, the No. 2 official in Chicago’s Transportation Department, to steer tens of millions of dollars in contracts to Redflex, which is based in Australia and has U.S. headquarters in Arizona. Bills, who rose to his position from street lamp maintenance man over a 30-year career, was sentenced in August to 10 years in federal prison.

So we need to check in Arizona

So we also need to check this whole thing in Arizona. The officials that accept a bribe are in fact more guilty than the one offering the bribe, IMO.

Isn't that why he gets 10 years? Are you saying there may be more involved?

Bribery

Red light and speed cameras are not the problem here. It is the company officials bribing city officials to steer the busines to their company. Officials who accepted the bribe should be thrown under the bus and given maximum jail time. They violated their duty to fulfill their job to see an efficient government at the lowest price.
One would need more than their hands and feet to help count the government officials serving time for graft.

Saw this yesterday

All I can say is; it's about time. Kind of makes one wonder if red-light cams are really about traffic safety. confused

Really?

I think it is well established that they were almost never about safety.

intent

I believe the intent was to take a busy police officer off a busy intersection to do more important things like patrol areas where crimes are more common , people who run red lights and don't stop at stop signs should be fined ! its a shame our community leaders aren't as honest as they should be the cameras are a good thing with a good purpose . but there purpose is being abused !

Very good

Let her see RED for 14 months in Jail by wearing the red prison uniform
