Nuvi 2597 - Win 10

We are feeling our way in the dark on Windows 10. Try this: Unplug the nuvi. Delete the nuvi in Garmin Express. Reboot the computer. Start Garmin Express and plug in the nuvi. GE should load the Garmin USB driver and detect the nuvi.

Tried that, no joy; tried a different USB port, although I've been using the same one for several years. Will keep plodding along and see if I stumble across something.

If Garmin Express was installed prior to the Windows 10 upgrade, uninstall Garmin Express, restart the computer, and reinstall Garmin Express.

Has the USB port been checked using another device to make sure it operates?

Have you recently added an external USB hard drive or anything else that would have created an additional drive letter?

May be worth mentioning: lately the 2597 has been acting "weird".
Will not stay on if cable not connected, even though the battery indicator indicates it is fully charged. Also, when in use, occassionally, when vehicle is turned off for short periods, goes through the full power-on routine, i.e. loading maps etc. Also, if I have a route set, it will disappear if unit is turned off overnight - used to retain the route info.
