We live on a hill and have a balcony. You can not imagine the fabulous view of fire works. The horizon is lit up with all the distant towns with everything in between lit up with closer towns and individuals. It is a sight to see.

We are free

As a refugee in 1950 I remember as we entered NY harbor and my mother lifting me to the portal window to see the Statue Of Liberty as we passed and sobbing "We are free" (She was on the list to be sent to Siberia for the crime of being in charge of an independent store" but she prevailed and we arrived.
HAPPY 4th OF July. YOU ARE FREE and GREAT whether North, CENTRAL or South America for there is no country named "AMERICA"

As much as we sometimes complain, I do think we realize we live in the greatest country on earth, and we appreciate everything it took to get us where we are today.

New stories like yours need to be heard so people will remember why refugees are trying to come to a Great Free Country.
