Samsung note 4/marshmallow

If anyone is interest you should be able to update to android 6.0.1 on Verizon

Thanks for the heads up on the update

I was wondering when Verizon was finally going to catch up to the other providers with a update to marshmallow for the Note 4. smile

The update completed successfully in around 20 minutes, the only thing I notice so far is a change in some of the icons and the phone seems faster.

My AT&T Galaxy 6 got this

My AT&T Galaxy 6 got this update about a week ago, a lot of new security stuff.

One good feature is all apps now need permission to run on the phone, seems to be a one time "allow" thing, one annoying feature is everytime I plugged it into my PC via USB I had to "allow" the connection from the phone before I could move photos to the PC.

Somehow I turned that off, but I forget which of many things I tried that worked.

If you use Samsung Link all your photos move automatically to your computer. If your pc is off the photos will wait to upload until you turn your computer on so if you need to control when they upload you can do it that way.

AT&T Note 4

I am on Note 4 and see no signs of AT&T releasing the Note 4 update yet. Can't wait. Want to try some of the log ins with my fingerprint.....

Thanks, but I don't use any Samsung or AT&T apps, I normally just plug the phone in and navigate to it like it's another hard drive, until the latest update this was never a problem. Somehow I got it to stop asking permission and all is good in Mudville again.

PS I looked on my phone and don't see anything called Samsung Link, but like I said I wouldn't/don't use it anyway.

Samsung Link

Samsung Link may not be on your phone but it's an app that you download to your phone from Google Play:

I've been eyeing the Note 4

I've been eyeing the Note 4 due to the large screen and replaceable battery. Good to hear that Verizon version is on Marshmallow now.

Love my Note 4

I love my Note 4 and plan on keeping it as long as I can. From what I read the newer Note 5 does not have a sd card slot. I like having the option to keep things on the sd card so hope when I need a new one they put that option back in some day.

From what I read AT&T is always late with upgrades because they like to test them until they are sure they will work ok. Hope that is true. Don't know when AT&T will update the Note 4....... but I think they have had enough time to test everything.

The update to android 6 on my verizon note 4 is working great

So far the update to my note 4 is working great and the interface is pretty much the same other than the icons. The biggest thing that was added is the Voice over wifi that allows people that find themselves in a poor reception area to use their wifi for a clear stable connection that isn't dropping when they move around the home. That has been a big help to my youngest daughter.

I also plan on keeping my note 4 for a long time and do not want to loose the replaceable battery and micro sd slot either that is missing on the note 5 that my son has.
