Whenever I connect my Nuvi 2598 to the usb cord to the pc it goes into usb mode. Is there a way to work on the unit at the same time?

My 765 ...
My 765 will stay connected to my computer using the USB cable - and it appears to be charging - if I safely disconnect, then pull the USB plug and immediately reconnect it. However, my 2595 does not react this way.

Somewhere here I posted how to make a USB cable that will let you operate the GPS, as opposed to go into Terminal Mode...
I had to find out how to do it because the mount interface went dead on my 660, and I had no way to charge or run the 660....
I posted what cables would have to be purchased, and how they would to be cut and wired back together....
It's here, I just don't know where....
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

Unfortunately I don't think the method used with old Nuvi models like the 3xx, 7xx and 7xx will work with newer models.
Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.
