Chit Chat Thread For The Week Of November 02, 2015

Have a nice week everybody, a week of almost heat record in Florida

Start of a new month. Good Morning all.

There's a lot of rain out there.

This week,

Safe and happy travels!

Here again.

But one I've taken often lately due to family issues.

I've seen on previous Chit Chat Threads of people planning trips down to Florida. Great, come on down and spend some money. The locals around Mickey World or elsewhere like that.

This is not about that. This is about the area south of Tifton, Ga. to Valdosta, Ga. The local police will lurk on top of the overpass's on I-75 with their speed guns clocking the vehicles. If not in a local jurisdiction, then the sheriff will join the action. They will not nab you for 3 or so over the limit. But, and here is the question, I don't know where they have their line drawn.

My family has land in Lenox and the local police there are very active in this.

The Georgia Highway Patrol are active in this stretch of I-75 with their cars sitting in cutouts in the barriers between the travel lanes.

These do not appear to be speed traps of any kind. They are looking for high speed speeders. The Troopers I would hope get some of the aggressive lane changers and such to give them invitations to appear before the magistrate.

This is a kind of for what it is worth thing. I haven't traveled north of Tifton on I-75 in years.

Greetings from the mid mid Midwest. Beautiful day, make that week, and the leaves are turning. Miss California, but this time of year is spectacular in the land of the amber waves of grain.

But gotta wait another day to see sunshine.

Thanks for the info RedRevrnd. The towns and villages will do anything for revenue in this day and age. I am classified as a senior citizen now and have gotten very cautious with respect to driving and speeding. When the traffic is light on the highways I have my speed control set just below the speed limit. Even doing that does not free you from the rapid speed changes that popup going into some of the little burgs that are setup to take your money.

After nearly 10 years, we finally had a GPSr stolen.
Unfortunately, it was our 2595, not 1390.
A new 2598 is on the way.

I usually find something else to comment on by the end of the week, but this is the insurance.
