I am just wondering if anybody here is using a Garmin Monterra as an automobile navigator? I know that there are vehicle mounts for this, but the price has kept me from doing this.
.
I haven't used one but I think one of the first/main things you'll notice as being MIA will be the spoken directions.

I have not used a Monterra either and have no first hand experience with it. But it is my understanding that with a City Navigator map and the automotive mount, which includes a speaker, the Monterra does have spoken directions and works very much like the Montana with that same configuration.
Based on what I have read about the Montana, the auto navigation works very well. The multi-point routing works more like the older nuvi's with Custom Routes rather than the newor ones with Trip PLanner. I believe it does have lane guidance (arrows), but not junction views.
