Silent Voice?

On my TomTom, and my first Garmin several years ago, there was an option/downloadable voice that would turn off turn by turn voice instructions, but kept traffic announcements on. Is there a way to do this?

In a sense yes, but not totally, I still want it to alert me to traffic alerts - without having to keep the traffic "up-ahead" window open, etc.

Correct. I believe you can't do what you want. You may have an audio mixer but if it's like my 3597, the only options are Navigation and Phone. I have no sub-option within Navigation to allow Traffic warnings without upcoming turn audio and I expect you may not either.
