Time Zone Map

So is the Time Zone map problem fixed?

I see that the fenix forums are still showing problems with V16.02 and they are going back to V15.

What's the latest here?

V16.02 is V15

It has been determined that V16.02 is actually v15.
They can't go back in numbers so they have to go forward.

I thought 16.01 was actually 15. If so, why the change from 16.01 to 16.02 of 16.02 is also 15?

16.02

CraigW is correct. The 16.01 update actually replaces TZ map V16.0 with V15.0. The 16.02 update installs TZ map V16.02.

OK, so is the op correct that 16.02 has a problem, or is he just confused? I was about to update to 16.02 but don't want to keep going back to 15.

Clear as mud

You have to go forward to go back.

16.02

I have not read of any problems with 16.02 in the forums I follow, but then, I don't follow fenix forums. It could be a problem that affects only the fenix and similar devices. There is certainly no problem in staying with V15.0 if you are uncertain. I suspect though, that the upcoming map update will put on the new time zone map whether you want it or not.

The new TZ map 16.02 does not have the issues that 16.00 had with nuvis; i.e., the inability for Garmin software and websites to work with devices with the 16.00 map.

I've tested my nuvi with the 16.02 TZ map and find that the GPS appears to be working properly, and that WebUpdater, POI Loader, and Garmin Express all recognize and do "their thing" with the nuvi. My guess is therefore that the new 16.02 TZ map can safely be installed to nuvis.

And if a problem does arrive, simply restoring 15.00 from your backup will eliminate the problem.
