Had to uninstall previous version first

This one did not successfully update within the application. Gave an error upon restarting. I deleted previous version and did a clean install. That worked fine.

Thank You

Somewhat surprising that Garmin has done so many updates to this software recently...

It's been brought up several

It's been brought up several times. Most of the Garmin Express updates are to correct for the many bugs when using handheld and personal devices. Fitness Trackers, etc. Only a few updates right after a Map update is released are for the Garmin GPS's.

Personally, I don't update GE until it's time to update my GPS with the next map update.

Wouldn't update from within GE

I also ran into an issue updating from within GE...It would nearly finish downloading and get towards the end and then suddenly give me a "FAILED" message....had to uninstall and do a clean install.

Thanks ... Early Adopter or Guinea

Thanks for the heads up.

Love being an early adopter of Garmin updates ... or as Garmin calls us fearless early adopters "Guinea Pigs."

Updated from 4.0.19 without a problem,

Huh?

I just saw this post from the Garmin Express Customer Support over on the Garmin Express Forum

ExpressCustomerCare wrote:

Map Updates on Devices Without Maps
Garmin Express users might notice something a little unusual in their list of updates. In some cases, we have added a “Map Update” to the update list, even if your device doesn’t have a map. It’s safe and secure to install this update from Garmin.

https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?256848-Map-Updates-...

"... notice something a little unusual ..." indeed! Is it just me or does this make no sense?

Edit: They have now changed the post to add a little more clarity ... it now reads: "This is actually a critical update for the Garmin Express application and is safe and secure to install." Still, calling it a "map update" is strange. And if it is an update to the Garmin Express application, wouldn't it be a Release Note for Express and not a device update?
