Returned faulty unit, I was promised a full refund only thing is they (HP) didnt say what year.Made several phone calls and received same number of promises. Their reps speak English but do not understand it. Filled a dispute with my cc company, they wrote to HP, no answer. If they (HP) are not out of business they should be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

HP was once known as the top company for test equipment. Carly Fiorina changed that.

In February the wife and I bought identical HP laptops. Her Western Digital hard drive failed wednesday night. I called support and received a replacement hard drive today, less than 48 hour. An HP tech is scheduled to install the drive on Monday.

I could have installed the drive at no charge to myself but elected to pay $51 for a tech to install the drive and operating system.

Technical support was pleasant and expeditiously handled my call to my full satisfaction.

refurbished units

OP didn't said it was new unit. If he bought refurbished unit it may have shorter warranty (even 90 days). Anyway, it doesn't explain customer service behavior.

Feel for you

One of my hobbies is photography. I run 3 printers here.
The last time i had an HP product was 2 years ago when my ink-well over flowed, that was the last straw. I've always had issues in one form or another with HP. Never again.

Happy with HP

Bought an HP laser printer in 1999. Worked flawlessly for 11 years. Replaced it with a new HP last year because HP stopped supplying replacement cartridges for the first one. This new one is better yet. Gets lots of use, works great. Also have an HP laptop running Windows 7 that I bought 4 years ago. No problems.

I have always been a HP person

My two PCs are HP, my Netbook is HP, and my 4-in-1 e-printer that I just got is HP. I just replaced an old all in one HP printer with the e-printer. Do love the new printer. It has an email address so if I am out and want to print something at home I just send it to the email address... cool. but don't know why I would ever need to print when I am out.

It does a lot more but I have not mastered any of it so far.

I have always loved HP. Never any problems. My 1st PC was a TI-99 but all the computers after that have been HP.
