Nuvi 3597 Power Down Issue

When I turn off the ignition in my pickup, my Nuvi 3597 displays a screen which says “Vehicle Has Been Turned Off” and starts the shutoff countdown even though there is still power to the unit. This differs from the usual “External power Has Been lost” screen which also initiates the shutoff countdown.
I suspect the unit detects the sudden voltage drop when the alternator stops charging which triggers the “Vehicle Has Been Turned Off” screen. I like this feature since the dash power outlet I use is always hot. The problem is, I can’t rely on it since it only works about half the time. Anyone else experience this issue?

I have not heard of this before, but do you by chance use the Garmin Ecoroute HD device?

I like the idea
If it is like my radar detector, it will look at the amount of noise in the power. Every time the spark plug fires it makes noise. My radar detector has a function that will determine if the engine is above idle.

I do use Ecoroute but it is paired with my RV760, not the 3597. I also have bluetooth disabled on the 3597 so as not to interfere with other devices.
