Garmin Toronto, ON lane assist coverage

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip from Boston to Toronto and wanted to find out how well things like lane assist and lane guidance works in Canada on a 1450LMT w/ 2015.20. The last time I did this trip there was no GPS and it was done with AAA TripTiks. wink

I'll also be bringing my Nuvi 350 as a backup but it will be 2 map updates behind since the maps are now > 2GB in size.

Thanks!

.

Lane assist is available for most main streets in the Toronto area.

Junction view is available for major highways - 4xx series, QEW, Gardiner, Don Valley Parkway. There is a large JCV file available for 14xx units (and others). For 2015.20, the link is

Lane Assist Works Well in Toronto

With 2015.20 installed in the 1450LMT, Traffic, Lane Assist, Junction View and Speed Limit Indicator should all work in Toronto for all major highways.

POI is perhaps somewhat outdated particularly for restaurants....suggest calling first to confirm before heading out.

Enjoy your stay in Toronto....it is a fabulous city to visit.

Thank you for the replies.

Yes it works

Lane assists works well with Garmin and if you have traffic that will also work in Toronto.

For POI most of the common ones are still around and only resturants would have come and gone from the database.

Be carfeul with roaming charges by your cellphone company as they charge a hefty amount to use phone and data if outside your country.

Well, if you are using FM traffic then there is no cell phone involved. Cell phone roaming charges should be considered if you are using Smartphone Link software for traffic otherwise you are fine.
