Garmin Nuvi 3597LMTHD $220 w/ warranty

I was *just* looking for this the other day and was sad to see it wasn't available at a discount. Thanks for the heads up!

Offer now showing as "backordered" but availability is Aug 4 so not to long a wait.

Note that Amazon has listed the 3597LMTHD as "Discontinued by Manufacturer" for the past several weeks. However, there is no indication on Garmin's site that it is discontinued. There has been some speculation in other forums that Garmin is getting ready for new model announcements, although I have not seen any news article that confirms this.

The 3597LMTHD is a great unit IMO, and I would not hesitate to buy one at this price even if new model announcements from Garmin are imminent.

I have 3597 unit and found out this unit was the best Garmin I have ever bought. I love it.

I was one of the group who bought a 3597 refurb back in March and I couldn't be happier with it! I'm actually considering a second unit to keep in my pickup to avoid swapping. Hopefully, I didn't wait too long to order.

GPS City also offered 3597 refurbs for $220 with free shipping but like the GPS Store, they are out of stock.

The 3597 is the best GPS I ever had (and I have had a lot of them over the last 7 years). I would expect this model to be end-of-life as Garmin needs to keep new models coming. The only thing I would add is the backup camera option they have for some of their other units.

Can't find any really good deals on a refurb unit, not even on Cyber Monday.

I think the supply of the 3597, new or refurb, is drying up. It will probably be difficult to find a good price on this model.

Both vendors offer free shipping but there is still the question of the warranty being valid though.

$220 is a great price on that manufacturer refurb from pc-nation (eBay). I also see that they have sold 12 in the past 24 hours with only 8 remaining. If you want one of these, this may be your last chance to get one at this price.

Also, if you have a eBay credit card, you may well now have an offer of a $10 statement credit for any eBay purchase of $50 or more made with the card through December 7.

That is a good deal. My 2598 from Costco for 170 was not bad but for that unit at that price, you may have topped it.

Hss anybody here ever heard of Factory Discount Electronics? They show the Garmin Nuvi 3597LMTHD $99.00 with warranty. Needless to say, it is very tempting at that price. The question is, are they a reliable company? Does anybody know how to confirm that this place is legitimate?

Very strange that they don't come up on a Google search. That price is "too good to be true". Wouldn't order a thing from them. If they have been in business since 2001 (according to their website), I'm sure that something would be found with a Google search.

My Norton web site protection kicks in for me maybe 3-4 times a year so when I see a warning, I'll play it safe and listen to Norton. Note that Norton's very new site does seem at odds with in business since 2001. The real biggie is a way too good to be true price on the 3597. Very few Norton Community members have used this site.

Also, a search for their (800) or (720) phone number suggests it may be in China, India or Russia. Note also that they have a spelling error in at least one place: Garmen nuvi 3597 5"

Factory Discount Electronics looks very shady. There are absolutely no Google results for a review of the place. I can't imagine the deals are legitimate. Apple iPad Air 2, which just came out recently shows $440 (but when you select on the 64Gig it shows $449). That is $159 less than Apple ($599) for what is described as new, not refurb. Yet, their page says it is $89 off list. These sort of errors are the hallmark of scams.

If it looks too good to be true, then it is.

A closer look with Google Maps shows 2980 Huron St. with a "Hercules Tires" sign at the entrance.
