Is it possible to put the POI files on the sd car which holds the current map?
I normally use the Europe map and find that when I load the USA sd card and upload POI files using POI loader, the files are put in main memory along with gpx files from every other country. It would be great to have just the relevant POIs pop up when seaching rather than every POI list available in main memory.
Yes and no.
Yes, in general, you can put custom POI's (.gpi file) on a SD card. But based on your posts in that "other forum", I know that your SD card is Garmin's pre-installed City Navigator North America card. And while it may be possible to put custom POI's on this card, in general, I think it is not a good idea to mess with a pre-installed map card.
