Baltimore Speed Cameras yet again

 

Even though Baltimore stopped using speed cameras last year because of pervasive problems they are still in the news. (Unfortunately, to return again soon.) Seems the city paid for two independent secret audits. The first became public in January and the second this week. Seems that the overall system error rate was around 5.5%. The three cameras with errors rates of 25%, 35%, and 45% certainly helped raise the average. About 20% of the cameras were over the average. Actually, they must have had a lot of fairly accurate cameras, because it would take a lot of accurate cameras to hold the average down that low.
