old 660 & 680 questions

I was recently told about routing dozens of stops here in town by loading a GPX file into a GPS, which will (or can?) theoretically arrange all such stops in the most efficient order, based upon the shortest rout, or else the fastest rout, depending on which priority I select. This would be ideal for a delivery driver, or anyone who needs to find many new addresses each day.
I have two older Nuvis, a 660 and a 680. Does anyone know whether I can load and use this GPX way of doing things on my older GPS machines? I don't even know how to tell whether I can do this with my Nuvis.
the user manual
The user manual for your 660 states it allows multipoint routing. It doesn't state if it can reorder them or not. One of the standalone travel packages such as DeLorme's or Microsoft's would allow the routes to be built on a PC and then transferred to the unit.I honestly don't know if BaseCamp allows this or not.

Routing
Here is a simple routing option http://www.mapquest.com/routeplanner .Once you get all your stops in and optimized. The send tab will appear. This allows you to send to gps as well as other options.

If you are manually entering
If you are manually entering the route at the 660, it will allow one addition.... and when you enter the new address, you can select that this addition become the new endpoint, or midpoint, but you'll only be allowed to manually enter one.
I have not tried entering a complete route externally into the 660, however.
A 2689LMT in both our cars that we love... and a Nuvi 660 with Lifetime Maps that we have had literally forever.... And a 2011 Ford Escape with Nav System that is totally ignored!

Thanks so much. once on the Nuvi, how do I bring it up?
@ bsp131. Import Route
Once you have sent the route to the GPS using MapQuest you have to import the route.See https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?... this on the units you have listed in your account Nuvi 765t (primary) and Nuvi 650.
