GPS Map Rotation - 3597 (maybe more)

When viewing the overhead view, does anyone know the method to rotate the map versus just zoom. Pinch to zoom seems to work, but the standard touchscreen method of rotating doesn't work. Instead every once in a while it senses my touch as a rotate.

Not having one of those units I believe you can rotate the screen by physically rotating the device and there are times my phone rotates the screen when I touch or get near an edge.
