Custom POIs & Line Breaks for Descriptive Data

I recently posted a query about creating line breaks in displayed text on my Garmin nuvi 2597LMT. I have since read in earlier postings about the various known ways of achieving line breaks. I want to manually try to create line breaks before I move on and learn EPE. I have created and uploaded otherwise working custom POIs files to my unit but I can't seem to achieve line breaks. I have used the three methods described in this forum, "Pipes," Alt+Enter & . I've tried placing the text in the third "name" column and also in a fourth "descriptive" column.

Does anyone have a similar unit that can tell me if they were able to achieve line breaks for text and, if so, how? Pointers to any tutorials for my unit would be welcomed. Screen shots would be nice if you can make them. I am not sure I've ever seen more than one line of text displayed across the top right or any place on my new unit. I suspect I might be trying to get more text to display than is possible on this unit? It seems like older units were capable of much text. Thanks. eKeith

the 2597

The 2597 is one of the 2014 models so there may not be a lot of expertise with this unit as of yet. Have you tried loading a CSV file with line breaks to see if they work on your unit? I believe the Historic Ships file uses line breaks and I know the DDD Plus file also uses them. Try these to see if the unit handles those correctly. They both use the ALT+ENTER key sequence.

On my 2597 I have files that were also used on the Nuvi 265. I have noticed the display is smaller on the 2597 . Went through various files on the 2597 to just see how data was displayed on the top line.Found to get all the data to read all in one place.Had to touch the I with circle around it before touching go. Very well displayed on that screen.
